Course Description
The course is designed to prepare law enforcement officers for tactical response to large scale terrorist incidents involving multiple active shooters, mass hostage takeovers, and other unconventional attacks. Above all, the training concentrates on equipping law enforcement officers with the proper tactical skills necessary to successfully confront the threats and horrific effects of terrorist’s unique methods of operations. Such methods include but are not limited to the use of simultaneous attacks by multiple attackers at different locations, the use of suicide bombing in its many forms, and the use of Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) to create MCI’s.
The course provides officers with the necessary operational preparedness, drawing a distinct separation between criminal and terrorist incidents. Its main emphasis is on building an individual operator’s capability to provide dynamic response to violent, fast-paced terrorist attacks thereby stopping the aggressive action, saving lives, and minimizing damage.
Due to the extreme nature of terrorist attacks, special emphasis is put on training individual officers in specific skills which may be needed while additional and/ or proper assistance is not available.
