Course Description
Geared specifically toward EMS professionals, this course provides comprehensive identification and recognition training to first responders who, throughout the course of their duties, may encounter various explosives, conventional and / or homemade (HME’s), as well as Improvised Explosive Devices (IED’s).
Designed as a complete awareness program and taking into consideration the participant’s scope of operations, the course provides fundamental detection and recognition skills to medical personnel. Furthermore, it provides participants with standard safety protocols and mitigation skills suitable for various scenarios ranging in their severity and dynamics from post-detonation crime scene and HME labs, to MCI’s resulting from explosive detonations.
This fully interactive curriculum combines classroom instructional modules with hands-on exercises and practical problems. It requires the participants’ direct involvement and physical interaction to assure their ability to properly implement detection and recognition skills in their respective fields and environments.
